Terms of Service for Code Sprout

Last updated: October 23, 2026 · Effective: October 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Code Sprout website and the APIs that back it (together, the "Service"), operated by Laxmi Solutions ("We", "Us", "Our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Code Sprout is a coding-practice website delivered at https://code-sprout.laxmi.solutions. It includes:

  • Articles, tutorials, and study plans
  • A library of practice problems with an in-browser editor and a code judge that returns verdicts (accepted, wrong answer, time-limit, memory-limit, compile error, runtime error)
  • A Studio for authoring and publishing articles, problems, test sets, videos, and study plans
  • Social features: comments, bookmarks, follows, likes, reports
  • A search index across the above

Features and content may change at any time. Some features are available only to signed-in users; some are available only to users granted an authoring role in the Studio.

2. Accounts

  • You may read most of the Service anonymously.
  • To run or submit code, comment, bookmark, or publish, you must create an account. Accounts are managed by our shared identity service.
  • You create an account with an email + password, or by signing in with Google.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account (DPDPA, Section 9).
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Any request made with a valid credential is treated as authorised by the account owner.
  • One account per person. Do not share accounts or create multiple accounts to evade a suspension.
  • You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account, or, if you cannot sign in, through the form at /delete-my-data. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right (including intellectual property and privacy).
  • Upload or submit material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or that promotes hatred, violence, or illegal activity.
  • Attempt to break out of the code sandbox, access other users' submissions, or interfere with the judge or the infrastructure.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems except as part of a disclosed, responsible security-research programme.
  • Scrape content at a rate that interferes with other users, or circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
  • Spam, phish, harass, or impersonate others on comments, reports, or any user-generated area.
  • Train commercial machine-learning models on our content, in bulk, without our written permission. (You are welcome to read, learn from, and quote reasonably as a human.)

We may temporarily or permanently suspend accounts that violate these rules. We may remove or hide content that violates these rules, without notice.

4. Code You Submit

  • You keep ownership of the code you write and submit.
  • By submitting code to the judge, you grant us a limited licence to execute, store, and display that code for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you (showing your submission history, our moderation of abuse, debugging a failure you report).
  • Code that attempts to exploit, escape, or disrupt the judge sandbox is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension.
  • There are per-submission time, memory, and output limits. Verdicts, timings, and runtime output are stored in your account.
  • The judge may fail or return incorrect verdicts in edge cases. We do our best, but automated judging is not a warranty of correctness.

5. Content You Author

Content you publish through the Studio (articles, problems, test sets, videos, study plans) is your work. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, serve, index, cache, and distribute that content as part of the Service and to feature it on the Service's own promotional surfaces.

You represent that:

  • You have the right to publish the content and to grant us the licence above.
  • The content does not infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other right.
  • You will not publish personal data about anyone other than yourself without their consent.

You can delete your authored content at any time. Deletion removes it from public views; cached copies may linger briefly on content delivery networks and in search engines until they refresh.

If you delete your account, we offer you the choice of deleting your authored content or leaving it published with authorship attributed to "Former member". See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

6. Our Content

  • The Service itself (software, design, user-interface, logo, taxonomy, imagery we created) is owned by Laxmi Solutions.
  • Content authored by other members on the Service is owned by those members and licensed to us under Section 5.
  • Nothing on the Service grants you a right to copy, redistribute, or build a competing product from our content without our written permission. Normal reading, bookmarking, personal note-taking, and sharing of links are of course welcome.

7. Takedowns and Reports

  • If you believe content on the Service infringes your intellectual property or privacy, email our Grievance Officer (contact in Section 13 of the Privacy Policy) with the URL, the right you claim, and your contact information.
  • You can also report content and users from inside the Service using the Report action.
  • We review reports and act on them in good faith. We may remove content, warn users, or suspend accounts.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or that your use is a threat to the Service or to other users. We may also take down specific content.

You may terminate at any time by deleting your account.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, licence, warranty disclaimer, liability limit, dispute resolution) will survive.

9. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be available at all times.
  • The judge will produce the correct verdict in every edge case.
  • Content on the Service is correct, complete, or current.
  • Your submissions, drafts, or data will never be lost. (We back up, but please keep your own copies of anything important.)

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laxmi Solutions and its personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event will our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees). If you have paid us for a product that is not covered here, that product's own Terms govern its liability cap.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Laxmi Solutions and its personnel from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) content you publish on the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.

12. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may change the Service — add, modify, or remove features — at any time.

We may change these Terms from time to time. Every version is published at legal.laxmi.solutions/code-sprout/terms-of-service. If a change is material and adverse to your rights, we will notify you by email to the address on your account at least 7 days before it takes effect. The previous version remains accessible under a dated archive URL. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.

13. Privacy

Your personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy at legal.laxmi.solutions/code-sprout/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except that we may seek urgent injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
