Privacy Policy for Cueline
Last updated: July 12, 2026 · Effective: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Laxmi Solutions ("We", "Us", "Our") handles information in connection with Cueline, our teleprompter, available as Cueline for Web (the browser app) and Cueline for Android (package solutions.laxmi.cueline). Cueline works without an account and keeps your content on your own device. We do not run a backend that stores your scripts or recordings.
1. The Short Version
- Your scripts, settings, and recordings stay on your device — in your browser's local storage on the web, and in the app's local database on Android. We don't upload or receive them.
- We don't ask you to create an account and we don't collect your name, email, or contacts.
- The Android free tier shows ads through Google AdMob, which uses an advertising identifier. Cueline Pro (a one-time purchase) removes all ads. The web app does not show ads.
- Some features rely on your device or browser's own services (speech recognition, the camera, purchases). Where those involve third parties like Google or Apple, their privacy policies apply.
2. Information We Collect
We designed Cueline to minimise data collection.
2.1 Content You Create
Scripts you write or import, your appearance and pacing settings, favorites, and reading progress are stored locally — in your browser's local storage on the web, or in the app's private on-device database and preferences on Android. This content is not transmitted to us and we have no ability to read it.
2.2 Recordings
If you use camera recording, the video is created on your device and saved there (downloaded by your browser on the web; saved to your device on Android). We do not upload, receive, or store your recordings.
2.3 Device Permissions
Depending on the features you use, Cueline may request:
| Permission | Why it's used |
|---|---|
| Camera | To record a take with the script overlaid. Video stays on your device. |
| Microphone | For voice-tracking (matching your speech to the script) and for audio while recording. |
| Notifications (Android) | For the ongoing notification required by the floating-overlay foreground service. |
| Display over other apps (Android) | To show the floating teleprompter over other apps. |
| Bluetooth (Android) | To pair with clickers and foot-pedals used as hands-free remotes. |
You can grant or revoke these in your browser or system settings at any time. Cueline requests each permission only when you use the related feature.
2.4 Voice Recognition
Voice-tracking uses your device or browser's built-in speech recognition. On the web this is the browser's Web Speech API, so audio may be processed by the browser vendor's service (for example Google in Chrome, or Apple in Safari). On Android it is the system speech recogniser; Cueline prefers on-device recognition where available, and if the device falls back to a network recogniser, the audio is handled by that provider (often Google). We do not receive, store, or transmit your audio — recognition is performed by your device or browser under its provider's privacy policy.
2.5 Purchases (Cueline Pro)
On Android, the one-time Cueline Pro purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment; we never see your card or payment details. We only receive a signal indicating whether the purchase is active, which we store locally to unlock Pro features.
2.6 Advertising (Android Free Tier Only)
The free tier of the Android app shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google's advertising SDK may access a resettable advertising identifier and related device and ad information. In regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK), we present a consent prompt (Google User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads are served. The web app has no ads, and Cueline Pro removes all ads.
2.7 Diagnostics
We do not add our own analytics SDK. However, Google Play, AdMob, and the consent SDK may collect limited crash, performance, and diagnostic data as part of their services. Standard web-server logs (such as IP address, timestamp, and user-agent) may also be recorded by our hosting provider when you load the website, for security and reliability; these logs are not used to identify you and are not linked to your Cueline content.
3. How We Use Information
Because your content stays on your device, we use information only to: provide and operate the app's features on your device; complete and validate your Cueline Pro purchase (via Google Play); show and, where consented, personalise ads on the Android free tier; and keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
Cueline relies on the following third parties, whose handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (ads, Android free tier) — see Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob data disclosures.
- Google Play Billing (purchases, Android) — Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google User Messaging Platform (ad consent, Android) — Google's Privacy Policy.
- Your device or browser speech provider (voice-tracking) — for example Google or Apple, under their respective policies.
5. Advertising Choices
- Reset or limit your advertising ID: on Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads.
- Change ad consent: re-open the consent options where a consent form was shown, or reset via your device's Google settings.
- Remove ads entirely: purchase Cueline Pro.
You can learn more about interest-based ads at Google's Ads Settings.
6. Data Retention
Content and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's or website's storage, or uninstall the app. We do not hold copies of your content, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our servers. Third parties such as Google retain data per their own policies.
7. Security
Your content is stored within your browser's or the app's private storage on your device, protected by your device's own security model. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but because your data stays local, its security is largely governed by the security of your own device.
8. Children's Privacy
Cueline is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where ads are shown, they are requested in a manner intended for a general audience.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because Cueline stores your content locally and does not send it to us, you can exercise most of these rights directly: view, edit, or delete your scripts in the app, or clear the app's or site's storage to remove everything. For advertising data held by Google, use the controls in Section 5 or contact Google. For other requests, contact us (Section 12).
We do not sell or "share" (as defined by certain US privacy laws) your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the standard AdMob functionality described above, which you can disable by purchasing Pro or adjusting your ad settings.
10. International Users
Cueline is operated from India. If you use it from another country, note that any limited data processed by our third-party providers (such as Google) may be processed in countries other than your own, under those providers' safeguards.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate. Continued use of Cueline after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
