Privacy Policy for CurvyKids

This Privacy Policy describes how CurvyKids ("We", "Us", "Our") handles information when you or your child use our application. CurvyKids is a learning app made for young children, and it is built to be private by design. By using CurvyKids, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. What is CurvyKids?

CurvyKids is an offline educational app that helps young children learn letters, numbers, shapes, colors, Hindi (varnamala and barakhadi), and everyday words through pictures, tracing, and gentle audio. Everything happens on the device. There is no account, no login, and no cloud.

2. Summary

We collect no personal data. None. CurvyKids works without any account, sign-up, name, email, or phone number.
Nothing your child does leaves the device. Progress, stars, and settings are saved only in CurvyKids's private storage on the device.
No ads. CurvyKids contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs.
No analytics or tracking. We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or any third-party tracking SDKs.
No servers. We do not operate servers that receive or store information about you or your child.

3. Information Stored On The Device

The following is created and stored only in CurvyKids's private app storage on the device. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

Learning progress — which topics and items have been explored, and "mastered" progress.
Rewards — stars earned and stickers unlocked.
App preferences — sound and other in-app settings.

This information is removed when you uninstall the app or clear the app's storage.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

CurvyKids is explicitly designed so that:

We do not collect any personal information from you or your child.
We do not require or collect a name, email address, password, phone number, or location.
We do not use advertising, and we do not show ads of any kind.
We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
We do not build profiles of children or anyone else.
We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not have any.

5. Children's Privacy

CurvyKids is intended for young children and is designed to comply with children's privacy laws, including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR provisions for children (GDPR-K), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Because CurvyKids collects no personal data at all, there is no personal information about a child for us to use, store, share, or sell. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children or anyone else. We encourage a parent or guardian to set up the device and to use the in-app "Grown-ups" area, which is gated behind a simple puzzle to keep little fingers out of settings.

6. Audio (Text-to-Speech)

CurvyKids reads letters, numbers, and words aloud using your device's built-in text-to-speech engine (provided by your device's operating system, such as Google or Samsung). The short words and letters to be spoken are passed to that on-device engine to generate sound. CurvyKids does not send your child's voice, recordings, or any personal data anywhere — the app does not use the microphone. How your device's text-to-speech engine handles text is governed by your device manufacturer's own settings and policies.

7. Permissions We Request

CurvyKids requests no other sensitive permissions and does not access contacts, photos, the microphone, the camera, or location.

8. Third-Party Services

CurvyKids uses no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services. The only third-party component involved in normal use is your device's own text-to-speech engine (see Section 6), which is part of your device's operating system.

9. Data Retention

We do not retain any of your or your child's data on our own servers, because we never receive it.

10. Your Rights

Because CurvyKids stores everything locally and collects no personal data, you are in full control. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes all on-device data permanently.

India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP)

As we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or erase. On-device data can be cleared directly from your device settings.

European Users (GDPR / GDPR-K)

If you access the Service from within the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights of access, rectification, and erasure. As we hold no personal data, these rights are satisfied by the on-device controls described above.

11. Data Security

On-device data is kept in the device's private app storage, isolated from other apps by the operating system.
Because your child's data never leaves the device, it is not exposed to server-side breaches.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do:

The "Last updated" date at the top will change.
For significant changes, we will provide an in-app notice where appropriate.

Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
