Privacy Policy for Reflex

Last updated: June 19, 2026 · Effective: June 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Reflex ("We", "Us", "Our") handles your information when you use our application. By using Reflex, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. What is Reflex?

Reflex is an Android automation app that turns gestures and device events into actions — for example, shake to take a screenshot, or flip face-down to enable Do Not Disturb. Reflex runs entirely on your device. There is no Reflex account and no Reflex server: your shortcuts, settings, and run history never leave your phone except through Google's services described below.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Data

None. Reflex has no sign-up and no login. We do not collect your name, email, or any account identifier.

2.2 Shortcuts, Settings & Run History

The shortcuts you build, your app settings, and a capped history of recent shortcut runs (shortcut name, icon, trigger, and timestamp) are stored only in your device's private app storage. This data is never transmitted to us.

2.3 Accessibility Service Data

Reflex hosts its automation engine inside an Android Accessibility Service so it can detect the gestures you configure and perform the actions you configure (such as taking a screenshot or locking the screen). Reflex does not read, log, store, or transmit the content of your screen, the apps you use, or anything you type.

2.4 Sensor & Device-State Data

To detect triggers, Reflex reads sensors and system state in real time — accelerometer, proximity, and step sensors; screen, charging, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, ringer, and Do Not Disturb state; and, for the optional call triggers, phone state. These readings are processed in memory on your device and are never stored or sent.

2.5 Location Data

Location is used only by the optional "At a location" condition, to compare your current area against coordinates you enter. Reflex requests coarse location, checks it on-device at the moment a shortcut fires, and does not store your location, track you in the background, or transmit your location anywhere.

2.6 Microphone & Audio Recordings

The optional Record-audio action (a Reflex Pro feature) captures microphone audio only when you trigger it. While recording, Reflex runs a visible microphone foreground service with a persistent notification so you always know capture is active, and recording stops as soon as you toggle the action off. Reflex requests the microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) permission the first time you use this action.

Recordings are saved as .m4a files to your device's shared Music storage (a "Reflex" collection), so you can find and play them in your own file manager or media apps. These files stay on your device — Reflex never uploads, reads, or transmits them, and you can delete them at any time from your file manager. Reflex does not record audio at any other time.

2.7 Purchase Data

If you buy Reflex Pro (a one-time in-app purchase), the transaction is handled by Google Play Billing. Reflex verifies your entitlement on-device through Google Play and never receives or stores your payment details.

2.8 Advertising Data

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising ID), IP address, and usage signals to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's privacy policy. In the European Economic Area and the UK, Reflex shows a Google-certified consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads are served. Purchasing Reflex Pro removes all ads.

3. How We Use Your Data

PurposeLegal Basis
Running the automations you configure (on-device)Contract performance
Recording audio when you trigger the Record-audio action, and saving it to your device (on-device)Contract performance
Verifying the Reflex Pro purchase with Google PlayContract performance
Serving ads to free users (AdMob)Legitimate interest / consent
Complying with legal obligationsLegal obligation

We do not use your data to:

  • Read, profile, or upload your screen content or the conversations and apps you use.
  • Track your location in the background.
  • Sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

Reflex is explicitly designed so that:

  • Your screen content never leaves your device. The Accessibility Service is used only to detect gestures and run your actions — it does not capture or transmit what is on screen.
  • Your sensor and location data stay on your device. They are evaluated in the moment and discarded.
  • Your audio recordings stay on your device. Recordings made by the Record-audio action are saved only to your device's storage and are never uploaded to us.
  • We have no account and no server, so we hold no profile of you.

5. Sharing Your Data

We share data only in the following circumstances:

RecipientWhat is sharedWhy
Google LLCAdMob advertising identifiers/signals; Google Play purchase verificationAdvertising; purchase verification
Law enforcement / courtsOnly data we actually hold (which is minimal)Legal obligation

We never share your screen content, sensor readings, or location, because we never collect them off-device.

6. Data Retention

7. Your Rights

Because Reflex stores your data only on your device, you control it directly:

  • Access / delete your shortcuts and history in-app, or remove everything by clearing app storage or uninstalling.
  • Delete your audio recordings at any time from your device's file manager or media app (they live in your shared Music storage).
  • Withdraw ad consent at any time (purchase Reflex Pro to go ad-free), and adjust ad personalisation via your device's Google settings.
  • Revoke any permission in Android Settings; the related feature simply stops working.

India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP)

We process your data only for the purposes described above and support correction or erasure requests at the email below.

European / UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You additionally have rights to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. EEA/UK ad consent is collected via Google's User Messaging Platform.

8. Data Security

  • Reflex keeps your automation data in your device's private app storage.
  • No screen content, sensor data, or location is transmitted off-device — the strongest possible protection for that data.
  • Communication with Google Play and AdMob uses encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.

9. Children's Privacy

Reflex is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Third-Party Services

Reflex uses the following Google services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

11. Changes to This Policy
