Terms of Service for Notes

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Notes application ("Service", "App"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Notes, you confirm that:

You are at least 13 years old.
You have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Notes is a free, ad-supported mobile application for managing tasks and habits. The Service lets you:

Create tasks, lists, notes, subtasks, due dates, and reminder times.
Set recurring tasks and track habit streaks.
Review tasks that roll over and organise your day.

All of your data is stored locally on your device. Notes has no account system and no cloud — your tasks never leave your phone.

3. No Account Required

Notes does not require registration. You use the app without creating an account or providing personal information. Because there is no account, your data lives only on your device and is not recoverable by us if your device is lost, reset, or the app is uninstalled. We recommend using your device's own backup features if you wish to preserve your data.

4. Your Content and Responsibilities

4.1 Your Tasks

You own and are solely responsible for the tasks, lists, notes, and other content you create in Notes. We claim no rights over your content and have no access to it.

4.2 Backups

Because your content is stored only on your device, you are responsible for any backups. We are not liable for loss of data resulting from device failure, loss, reset, uninstalling the app, or clearing app storage.

4.3 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the application, except where permitted by law.
Use the Service in a way that interferes with or disrupts the advertising networks it relies on.
Attempt to defraud the advertising system (for example, generating invalid ad clicks or impressions).
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Advertisements

Notes is free and supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, and app-open formats. By using the Service, you agree to the display of these ads. Advertising data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. Your task data is stored entirely on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

7. Intellectual Property

All content in the Notes application — including the name, logo, design, software, and copy — is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without written permission.

The content you create in the app remains your own property.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders and notifications will always be delivered on time, as these depend on your device and operating system.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR CONTENT — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

Because Notes is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim shall not exceed ₹500 (five hundred Indian Rupees).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Notes and its operator from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

11. Termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service. You may stop using Notes at any time by uninstalling the app. We may discontinue the Service, or any feature of it, at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India. We encourage you to contact us before pursuing formal proceedings.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will reflect material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, via an in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
